Resveratrol has been demonstrated to be a potent anti-oxidant (25 times as effective as Vitamin C). Resveratrol has also demonstrated to have an anti-oxidant effect that prevents the formation of thombi or blood clots in the blood vessels. The formation of thombi that block small vessels is believed to be a cause of heart attacks and strokes.

There is now recent evidence that resveratrol may also have anti-cancer benefits as well as possibly helping to reduce fat cells that exist in the blood stream, thus helping with cholesterol issues that many individuals have.
